Did that just really happen?!

My insurance company does not cover VSG, as of my last visit in October. Today, I went back to meet with the surgeon and as i sat at his desk, noticed a new neon green paper tacked up behind him: "Insurance companies that cover Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy".

 

And wouldn't you know, my insurance company is now on that list!! It was like a wonderful sign from the universe. My meeting went well and I am scheduled for January 27th :-)

 

It feels surreal almost, and I couldn't be happier! I got my special scrubby soap, and made my pre-op and post-op appointments.

Congrats! Time will fly by. Mine was last Monday and I was back to work today. Its a whole new world! Keep us posted.

That's wonderful MAChick. But what is your "special scrubby soap"?

It is a special antiseptic soap they gave me to use the night before surgery and the morning of surgery.

The doctors office I wanted that was close to home didn't take my insurance last year. On a whim I called them in January and wouldn't you know they just started this year! I am now 6 weeks post-op and feeling amazing!!!! It surely is a sign and I am so happy for you.
