I am about 3 weeks post op, starting to feel back to normal and wondering how active I should start being? How long after surgery did you start working out?

Started walking a mile a few days out.  Got cleared for the elliptical at 10 days out, but it bout' killed me.  Waited a couple more weeks for that.  I didn't touch weights for quite a while, as I wanted to be sure to be healed up.

Yea, I think I'll start walking this week before I try anything else. Thanks

Walking immediately.  Ellipitical, jogging, stairclimber was released at two weeks but it was based on how I was feeling, told not to over do it (I don't usually use these machines anyway).  Stretching, lifting weights, etc 6-8 weeks.

I'm 4 weeks out and started walking last week, thread mill started with 1000 steps at 2.3 mph... Not much but for someone who's NEVER done anything was quiet happy now I'm at 3000 steps at 2.5 mph and I'll gradually go up until I reach 10000 steps at least that's my first goal :)

Walk now. I was cleared for full workout at 4 weeks but my body could bit handle it much with my personal trainer until 6 weeks out. Good Luck

I was allowed to walk 2 weeks out, but wasn't allowed to do weights or elliptical until 6wks. Surgeon wanted to protect my abs while I was healing. Didn't want me to over do it.

Take your time to heal, walking is the best you can do for the first 6 weeks, I'm 9 weeks out and yesterday I was release of all restrictions. Listen to your body and heal properly.  Many blessing...
