Just when I thought I was at the end

So today was the last of my 6 month documented diet plan and I was to have my letters, yada yada for the insurance. Everything was going great until I did the EKG which showed an enlarged left ventricle so off I went to get an echocardiogram done and now instead of having everything done for insurance I am waiting for the results.Crud...I guess it's better to find out now than during surgery if something is wrong but I am so excited I don't want to wait a minute more...6 months was enough

I know it sucks-but better safe!!!!   I too had an EKG with an abnormality-which in turn led to a stress test.  My PCP is an awesome Dr and his findings were in line with the cardiologists.

Basically the wiring in the left side of my heart is screwed up-however, that did NOT keep me from having surgery!  May require a pacemaker some day-but I'm glad I know now.

Fingers crossed!

I know you're disappointed, but better they should find it now and not when you end up in the ICU.  Hopefully they can treat it and get you back in the saddle.

I'm sorry, I had a similar setback today and I agree with the others.. better to find out now than have a complication in surgery!

So sorry about the setback!  I hope that it's short-lived, minor, and that you're back in the game in no time.  I hate how frustrating and discouraging it must be for you!

I too had this happen, I ended up having to have heart cathe done but they did not find a blockage.  Make sure your cardiologist knows that you are looking at having wls because there are options on what they can do.  For example, if there had been a blockage and they needed to insert a stent, if he had used a medicated stent I would had to have waited a year for wls.  If he used an unmedicated stent, I only had to wait 1-3 months.  I ended up not having a blockage I had surgery 1 month later as scheduled.

This is a blessing that they have found this now and can address it.  Nine months after surgery, I was released from my heart doctor as everything was back to normal and hope I never have to go back again!

Good Luck!
