Running question for vets doing exercise

About how long did it take you to transition from a run/walk combo to a full run while exercising?

I did this back in 2000 but can't remember how long it took me to build up the endurance to handle a full 30 minute jogging or running program without having to do the walk/run combo to build the endurance.

I'm two weeks into the walk/run training but am intentially going slow to prevent injuries.  Was wondering about how long I should expect a transition to take.  Have no other physical impairments other than conditioning.

I was a new runner, so I used the C25K program that is 9 weeks long. I can say I never got any injuries doing it this way and loved the way it turned out. I have been off running for two months now due to surgeries (not related) Plastic Surgeries and I can't wait to get running again. I will see how long it takes me to get back to running my full hour.

Thanks!  I have been using a similar 10k version of the app since I'm working towards a 10k in March.

Back years ago I had lost a lot of weight on my own and had began running, I started off jogging a half mile and worked my way up from there.   Within a couple of months I could run 3 to 4 miles without stopping.  I will probably do this again after I have surgery and get released to begin running.

Definitely not a vet and I wasn't a runner / athlete beforehand. I started the Couch to 5k at the end of August and ran a 5k in 34:36 in November. After about week 4 on the program I turned it off and just ran. Does that make sense?
