Stall

How long do stalls typically last.  I have not lost anything in three weeks and am only 5 1/2 weeks out. This is so depressing. It makes me frustrated and sad. I feel like something is wrong. I have only lost 15 pounds since surgery. I know stalls are normal but this just plain sucks! I am getting water and protein... I do feel some real hunger too sometimes which is satisfied with protein. I know I am being a baby... Just makes this really hard.

I feel your pain. I am 4 weeks out and have lost 17. I stalled almost immediately right after surgery and then it started moving again at the first of the year (so basically a 2 week stall of sorts) I don't really know how to help other then to remind you that it will pass and the scale will move. Be strong :)

I've had my share of stalls.  I think the longest lasted about 3 weeks.  But keep in mind, If you are following your plan, you will be losing fat regardless of the number on the scale.  If you can shift your focus to this, you will save yourself a lot of frustration.  It really is not about how long it takes you to get there.  Its about a long term commitment to healthy eating and healthy living. So celebrate the 15 pounds you've lost.  That's wonderful.   You can do this!.

Your post got me thinking that I may be on a stall also. I was 6 weeks out the 14th, I weighed in on the 3rd at my surgeon appt and have lost 16 since surgery. I got on my scale yesterday morning and it was only 1 or so pounds less. I didn't let it bother me because I may not see it on the scale, but I sure see/feel it in my clothes. I also did this same thing pre surgery. I would not see the scale move, but my clothes would fit better and then all of the sudden, 5 pounds down. Keep up the good work, we have to let our bodies shed this the way it wants to, not the way we mentally think we should.

I am trying to stay positive. Was up 2 pounds this morning. I go see my NUT on Monday. Keep telling myself chin up, but it's not working!

One thing is funny I am 3 months out and I am in the middle of a stall right now. What I do is look at what I am eating. They did major surgery to our bodies and we have changed inside. You are still healing.Your not being a baby.We want reassurance to know that the weight will come off with diet and exercise.I will tell you I have emailed people asking them"Do you think I will lose weight" they said I would if I followed my plan.We all need to just make sure we do what we are supposed to do and we will lose.Go through your closet and see if there is anything that may be too big for you and that will  make you feel better.I was in a size 26 in October and now I am in a size 18.Do something for yourself today.Write down what you have done today that have been positive.
