FitBit
I have been hearing about the FitBit's and have been thinking about getting one. Does anyone have one and if so, what type? I like the wrist band one, but I also like the pedometer-looking one. Are there differences? Do they all synch to PC and/or Smartphone? I don't necessarily need the sleep feature on them.

Thanks everyone for the info, it was helpful. I found this link too that compares the devices http://www.fitbit.com/comparison/trackers
I was thinking about the Flex (I don't need the stair climbing thing, but I like the goal setting feature that the Zip and One don't have).
Do these devices synch with MyFitnessPal? I have been tracking my food, water and exercise on the OH site, but I see a lot of talk about MFP.

I got the flex for Christmas.....I think I would prefer the one......
i like the idea of being able to just check my device for steps taken......the flex does not do this..you have to sync
the one also has the growing flower that I like.
i like wearing it on my wrist, but my friends all attached their ones to their bras and love them.....if I were to get a different one, I would get the One.

Get the force and not the flex. I've had both and the force will be easier to use. The flex has two issues you won't have by getting the force.
first, the flex doesn't have a readout you can immediately see. It uses a star system to report progress on one main goal. If you want to know the details, you have to sync with an iPhone or the dongle they give you (that will probably be at one computer). The force prints out every stat it tracks just by the push of a button. You never really have to sync it up to get the information.
second problem, to turn off alarms and respond to certain prompts, the flex uses a tapping system. It also uses tapping to go into sleep mode. So sometimes while turning off alarms, or whatever, you accidently put it in sleep mode. Then you have to tap more to get it out. Not to mention the whole tapping thing a pain anyway. It often takes more effort to get it to respond properly to your taps than the instructions indicate.
if you think, no problem I don't need to use alarms, let me say back "yes you do". Every bariactric patient should get a fitbit force simply for the alarms if nothing else. I have silent alarms going off a half hour before every scheduled meal just to remind me not to drink. This is a real help in staying on plan each day.
