VSG on 01/24/14

it went perfectly fine. I missed my boys like crazy though. No complaints really, in fact I had a fantastic surgeon, I was in very little pain. The couple that had surgery the same day as me ate steak the night before surgery and they had gas pains lol. It went well. Dr Ariel Ortiz from Obesity Control Center all the way.

I've been looking for your update. I know you were concerned about feeling ill and if that would impact the surgeon's decision to carry through on the operation. Thank you for posting and I am so glad that it went well for you

Yes thank you. I was scared crazy because I had been fasting the whole 13 hr trip there so I could do the blood work. Well that didn't make me feel great while trying to get over my cold. I called the office and they told me to take some tylenol and relax. The next morning my fever was gone and surgery went great. If the blood work showed flu they were going to have to cancel. I really was nervous. Whew!

Im surprised they did the surgery if you had a fever the day before

the gas pain has nothing to do with what was eaten the day before ,it is from the gas the pump into you during surgery to make room for them to work , most people get some gas pain for a few days
