How much should I eat?
I'm 5 days out and according to my dietician it is now okay to puree lowfat soups in the blender. I've done this but I don't know if I should be eating 1/4 cup 1/2 cup or what. I had 1/4 yogurt for breakfast and a sugar free jello for snack, and a small protein shake for lunch. At dinner I know I will have the soup but not sure again how much. Or how much yogurt I should eat for breakfast. I don't feel full I know it is because of the cut nerve endings so I want to make sure and measure to a T. Thoughts?
You survived what you thought would kill you. Now straighten your crown and go forward like the Queen you are!
At 5 days out, maybe I was doing a couple of tablespoons or so. You are right about the nerve endings. Did your Dr. send home instructions re. quantity? If not, I would call them and ask- all part of the aftercare. Easy does it- there is no reason to push the progression of the food 'till your tummy is comfortable doing so. Liquids are important early. sip sip sip.

I was directed when going to soft foods to have a maximum of 1/4 cup per meal. When you are doing liquids it doesn't really matter all that much because it goes right on through and shouldn't sit in your new sleeve. It took me a good hour or so just to finish a protein shake, which works out to be about 2 oz every 15 minutes. However, you will still want to track calories.
The main thing for the first several weeks is to make sure that you stay well hydrated. You need to be sipping something pretty much 24/7!
