I was talking to some folks at the hotel last night about the  new eating habits an how i REALLY miss sushi.  The server overheard us and brought me a "special" dinner. A 4oz portion of yellofin tuna tartare with scallions and roast garlic and a mango puree drizzle with a bit of baked garlic root strands.  He said he understood the situation and the chef wished me good luck!  Then they only charged me for an appetizer.

If any of you go to vegas, you have to check out the Wynn and Lakeside restaurant.  Great people there.

Oh, and for an NSV, i must have had 30 peers thar havent seen me in a year do a doubletake when we ran into eachother.  Pretty cool.

I hated any seafood before surgery and now I love it.  I love vegas rolls but I really need to see if I can find something without the rice.  I love the shrimp and crab and what makes it da bomb for me is the spicy wasabi.  OMG, love the stuff!!!  So I know it's not the rice that I love, it's everything else!

Oh and the Wynn Hotel.  I will have to check that out the Lakeside restaurant next time I'm in Vegas.  That's my fave Hotel in Vegas.

Congrats on your NSV!!!!!  WTG!!!

I love wasabi with soy. Anyone try dipping shrimp into it? Or imitation crab? I might try that

I had the best sashimi the other night..blue marlin! It's a nice firm sweet white meat. I also had the spicy tuna sashimi because, of course, right?

I love that NSV..wait until next year and they'll be getting whiplash checking you out LOL

Had a similar thing at the Society cafe at the Wynn yesterday.  Ahi tuna, 2-3 oz, served raw, on a heated block of Himalayan sea salt, so you could break off a piece of tuna and sear it on the salt block... Awesome...

and you look great, by the way

The Wynn is the only place I will stay when we go to Vegas.  Love that place!

That's fantastic that they anticipated your needs like that.  That is service!

And way to go on your NSV. :)

If you're a big sushi fan, see if they'll do a modified roll with slivered cucumber pieces instead of the rice.  It's not quite as good as the reall roll with rice, but it's still a very good substitute.
