Hello I had surgery on January 29, 2014.  I',still holding my moo moo they giveyou a moose to hold against your stomach when you cough.  I'm  glad they did, but my stomach  is still sore. My post op appointment with my surgeon on tomorrow. The blood cough  is  gone and  the soreness in my throat is gone.  So I've been reading other's post after three weeks they  felt better..   So I guess  I should be  patient and remind myself it's  only been a week.   What is so amazing is not being  hungry now I can watch all the food comercials on TV without me wanting to go for something to eat  and it feels good.   My stomach is black and blue from the  bruises not a lot just very sore.  Myy surgeon stated that I had a lot  of scar tissues  due to previous surgeries from before. So I'm justgoingto slowdown and recover gracefully.  Thanks to all *****spond.

My surgeon didn't use drains or staples or anything that had to be removed.  The incisions were glued, then they put steri-strips over them, which I was told to let fall off on their own.  Also, I used my pillow for two weeks when getting up and down, and to protect my incisions from the cats, who thought me being off work meant unlimited lap time.

I tell my cats I have 5 weeks to train them to stay off my lap. So far, they just laugh at me while walking on my chest/tummy.

Hi! I had my surgery the day before you and I know what you're talking about!  Today my stomach has been considerably less sore so I think I'm on the mend. Hang in there!  It'll get better. Walking around seems to help it. And a heating pad. And pain meds too. But I haven't had to have those today. Just Tylenol.
