Seriously I am a super stalker on OH.  Every time I sigh on I find exactly what I need to learn about something I am going thru.  I have been on other groups but never felt that you all know exactly what I need to hear.  I really appreciate all of you that post and support this family of losers.

I have a question:  I am 2 weeks out today and I am so COLD.... Like my fingers, toes and nose.  What is that anyone????

Very common! My feet have been so cold lately that I wear some soft knitted booties to bed. I'm not really sure why that is? Maybe it has something to do with your body's energy being more focused on the vital organs as you lose weight instead of shoveling it out to heat up toes and fingers. I suspect it has to do with the lack of fat in our new diets.

It's pretty normal!  Your body is going through changes so you may be cold.  I've been a little colder as well.

I've had that ever since surgery! I've taken it as an excuse to buy lots of cute socks :)

I've been told that part of it is loss of insulation/fat, and part of it is your body adjusting its circulation, blood pressure, and the like. Basically, your body has a lot to get used to as you shrink, and keeping your extremities warm falls to the bottom of the priority list. If that's the worst "side effect" to deal with, I'll take it!

I always kept my office like a meat locker because I was always hot.  After surgery, I'm FREEZING all the time.  I have a portable heater in my office and I run it until the room is around 78 degrees.  People come in and complain that it's like a sauna now.

It's part of losing weight rapidly.  Bundle up!

My surgeon said it is part of the hormonal changes post=-op and may level off after a year or two--or may not.  My new best friends are my boucle-like sleep socks.
