Well I guess I found a food my sleeve doesn't like

So far I have been able to tolerate everything I have tried to eat/drink. I guess my sleeve is pretty low maintenance, lol. Well tonight I found something. For right now at least, my sleeve does not like oatmeal, and possibly milk as well since there was milk in it. Too bad, oatmeal used to be one of my favorite things. I didn't get sick, my stomach just started grumbling loudly and I had kind of an uncomfortable feeling. Oh well, cross that off the list.

It may be way too early for you to eat oatmeal.  You had surgery four days ago?

Ya, my book says that oatmeal is ok as long as we thin it out. I just had a little though so now I know

Geek Monster - Every doctors plan is different. I didn't even have a liquid stage. My plan has us start pureed food once we go home from the hospital. I was purees the evening of the day I was discharged (the day after my surgery).

At 6 weeks out I found out my new stomach did not like milk. Small cup and nausiated for hours!

Oatmeal was on my liquid stage as well, along with cream of wheat, cream of rice and yogurt. There's a chance that you may have become lactose intolerant with surgery. It happened to me. It's a real inconvenience on the puree stage!

I was thinking that too but the weird thing is that I had Greek yogurt this morning with no problems. Well I'm on pureed for another week so I'm sure I'll figure it out! I'm still working on listening to what my sleeve is "telling" me.

Greek yogurt is generally low enough in lactose that it won't set you off most likely. I can eat it too, and I'm violently lactose intolerant these days.

Just add water instead and skip the milk! I use to think that it wasn't as good but oatmeal taste good to me with just adding water. Milk gives me issues too.
