NSV and a SV

Today I weighed myself and I finally weigh less than DH!  Woot!   It's been a very long time. Just yesterday I realized that my pants and blouses are getting pretty loose again, so it's almost time for some new work clothes. I still have some jeans in smaller sizes, from about 1995, LOL.

And today I officially hit 50 pounds weight loss. I'm halfway to my personal goal (129)l. I'm over halfway to my surgeon's goal ( 150).

I'm going to say something to all our pre-ops:  Do what you can to lose at least some weight prior to surgery.  It really revs up your metabolism so you're ready to get with it after surgery.  I'm only 8 weeks post op but I'm already laying down new rules and habits. No eating in the car.  Eat on a schedule, not when I feel "hungry." If I do decide to go off plan for a nibble, I make sure it's ONLY a nibble and not several bites. I weigh myself every day to keep me accountable. I do not get hung up on the numbers, nor do I panic in a stall. No more than I'm eating I WILL lose weight.

Thankfully, DH is pretty proud of me and most supportive. His weight has always been in the normal range and it has been source of shame for me that I outweighed him. The last time I weighed less than him was when my last child was born--19 years ago!

I know I'm in the honeymoon phase of weight loss, but I'm trying to make the most of it. I'm really sticking to the plan, with the exception of ONE day. My DD20 was in a Cupcake Wars competition sponsored by her culinary school and I really HAD to taste her cupcake entry. But it was only a taste and not a whole cupcake, something of a miracle for me. Incidentally, it was marvelous!  She's a fabulous baker and general all-around cook, LOL. Since she lives away from home now I am not subjected to her delights.  Definitely for the best~!

HOORAY!!  You're working that sleeve..WTG!

I agree with the no eating in the car. I bought my son some fast food because there was an activity after church he was attending...and I swear, just out of sheer habit, I started to reach for one of his french fries. And then the smells..and the om nom nom nom noises...I had to crank up the fresh air and the radio until he was finished. Once he was done I told him that I can't have him eating like that in the car. It was so strange.

CONGRATS on the weight loss AND new clothes!
