I missed your other post but the one thing I was told over and over was NO CARBONATED DRINKS!  It's not just pop but even carbonated water.  Glad you got that straightened out.

God luck with your surgery!

The last soda I had was the day before my pre-op diet.  It was a diet dr. Pepper.

Since then, nine months today actually, I've had only water or the protein shakes (which I don't use regularly).

It takes some getting used to, but clearly the better choice over other beverages.

I understand carbonated beverages can make you really uncomfortable if nothing else.  High calorie beverages are out in any event.  Bye-bye Mocha Latte.

Listen to the Doc.  That is what you are paying for, good advice.  Keep on keepin' on.

I don't mean to sound *****y but why care what your sil is doing?  If she claims that her dr. said she could drink pop and eat junk that's on her.  Following your own dr.'s plan and don't get sucked into drama.

Here's what I can tell you 14 months post op. You will find loop holes...eventually. The behavior and reason why liked to over eat will come back if you dont work to fix that. So, that being said the sleeve doesn't fix the brain or stop what you put in your mouth.

I am sure others tell themselves all things in moderation. However, that can be a slippery slope for someone with a weight problem, or a wls patient...so try to stay away from that.

I was not told never again to anything surprisingly but I was taught about making the right choices and soda is not a right choice. However, I did try a flavored water one time...my husband bought - low to no calories, I didn't read it and took a regular sip. OUCH, it had bubbles and THOSE did NOT feel good. One sip was all I needed, I could only image how soda feels, actually I'd rather not imagine...I could care less! =)

Do your best to kick the habit before hand!
