Just Got Insurance Approval!!!!!

So, I've been working on this since last September, when I had and initial consult with my bariatric surgeon and started the 6-month doctor-monitored diet required by my insurance company. I just got a phone call from the surgical program patient advocate letting me know that the insurance company had approved the claim--only a couple of days after the claim had been submitted!

Next I have to get an EKG and have a comprehensive metabolic blood panel done (which I think I just had done for my primary care doctor, so I'm checking on that).

Anyway, it looks like I'll be able to have the surgery in April for sure. I am totally shocked. I wonder if somewhere not so deep down I assumed the insurance company would not approve?

Awesome , welcome and good luck. I was just thinking how different my life is since I started my journey for weight loss surgery in May of last year.  The sun is finally shining today.  I decide to walk to the coffee shop 8 blocks away from my offic,e got there and thought ...hmmm let me walk a bit more.. so I walked around for 30 more minutes, got the coffee and walked the 8 blocks back to my office , climbed the two flights of stair in my building to get to my desk and,  as I was doing it I thought wow last year I would have taken the elevator and driven my car. That is the best thing about losing the weight being able to move more, feeling healthier etc...
