So frustrated with the *#%+$&@ scale

So I've lost 99 lbs. That's great, and I'm really proud of myself, and excited about that, but I've been stalled here at 98-99 lbs. lost for about a week and a half. I am so close I can feel it, but everyday I get on the scale and it hasn't gone down, and I feel so disappointed in myself. I have been kicking my own ass at the gym, eating between 600-800 calories, with 80-100 grams of protein, and drinking my water. When I say I've been kicking my ass at the gym, I mean I am really working hard. I did have to miss 3 days in a row over the weekend because my work schedule lines up perfectly with the time the gym is open on the one weekend I have to work per month and I had to go to dinner for my father-in-law's birthday on Friday. I am so frustrated. I thought for sure I'd hit my 100 lb. mark by today. I know stalls are "normal," but I kind of thought if I worked harder I'd be able to get through them faster/easier.

When you work your muscles hard, you retain some extra water for a bit.  You will get there!

I've also noticed that despite my low calories and carbs, my sodium has been highish. Not over my "goal," but if my calories are under by 100, my sodium shouldn't only be under by 60.

I understand your frustration. I know I stalled when I was close to Onderland. We "THINK" that working harder should result in the scale cooperating! Sadly, that is never the case. The scale is a necessary evil in this process but it can really mess with our minds resulting in us feeling frustrated, angry, and for some feeling like we are failing. Would you be open to off the scale for a week and half? I did that and poof, i was in Onderland!

99lbs...you have lost a person!!!

Normally, I don't weigh everyday. I can't keep myself off of it when I'm waiting for a big deal like this, though. I have never lost 3 digits before. Ever. I really need this win. Yep, I'm a slave to the scale.

Do you have alternative measures?  The way your clothes fit?  Body fat?  Measurements?

I'd be annoyed too... so close to 100!!

I have done measurements, but I haven't done it in at least a month. I'll do that tonight. At work we have a machine that "measures body fat percentage," but it's highly inaccurate and it just makes me depressed. Because I had/have so much to lose still, the percentage seems to move so very slowly.

99 pounds in less than 5 months is a pretty damn good accomplishment.  Be easier on yourself.  The weight will come off!

I'm not judging by the scales right now because of working out so hard. You are gaining muscle weight so it's not going to show lost on scale. Go by inches or by the fit of your clothes. Also if you are gaining muscle you might be gaining toned muscle inches. Feel at ease with yourself knowing you are working hard and are aware of your goals and a healthier lifestyle. Be Patient and Keep on Going On~~~~

Keep the Faith,

Bridget

If it helps, my scale hasn't moved, not even and ounce, in about 6wks lol Just keep doing what your doing and try not to focus too much on the number on the scale. I did my measurements at the 1 month mark of my stall. I had a lost a total of 19ins, so that made me feel better and I have decided to only get on the scale 1x/wk. Keep up the hard work!!
