Well, I did it!
Surgery Monday morning, home yesterday afternoon. Slept almost 24 hours straight at the hospital so couldn't sleep more than a couple of hours at home last night. I have to say, so far it's not too bad. Yes, there is pain, but not debilitating, cannot function in life pain. More of a soreness, I think. I have drank unsweetened tea, water, (well, mostly ice chips) a little broth, and had two sugar free popsicles in the past 24 hours. I attempted a protein shake this morning but it was beyond horrible, so I just went back to water for now. I really can't believe the surgery is over. I was so worried about my liver not shrinking enough, complications, etc. I feel relieved now, and can just focus on healing!
I do have a lot of air in my abdomen- I've been walking around a lot, and this has helped. Of course my weight is more now than it was when I went in for surgery, so I'll post that progress in a couple of weeks.
Wooo! Glad you're home safe and doing well! I'm 7 days out and still haven't weighed myself yet. I'll do it Monday morning before my pre-op.
