Insurance approval and surgery scheduled today!

I came home from a vacation in New Orleans to find my insurance approval.  I got on the phone with my surgeon's office and am scheduled for April 21st.

I'm nervous and excited!

Holy crap, I can't believe it's finally happening!

It's been a rough couple of months, having to travel so much for work and personal reasons - most unexpected.  I haven't been able to keep to my diet and working out has been difficult.  I started to get down on myself a bit and get a little depressed.  Finding this news when I came home and being able to schedule my surgery so soon have given me a much needed boost and kick in the behind.

Here's to taking my life back.

Thanks! It's my favorite e.e *******s quote. He had several very inspirational, thought provoking quotes. :) Congrats again!

woooo hoooo!!!!  Just one month and you'll be sleeved!!

I got insurance approval today too. I still have to fulfill all the program requirements, which is way more than insurance requirements, before surgery is scheduled.

What kind of diet do you have to follow in the week or two before surgery?

It's a liver shrinking, all shake diet for two weeks prior to surgery.

Good luck with the rest of your requirements!

I know I'll have a 10 day liquid diet but don't know what liquids yet. During the seminar my surgeon said she did her 10 day pre-op diet so she could tell her patients what it was like. Like I've read many times on here, the first three days are hard but then it gets better. There is a TV series in the UK called Fat Doctor (episodes are on Youtube) and the surgeons pre-op diet is 10 days of milk (and other no cal liquids).
