Question about liver shrinkage

Hi folks. Question: is the six month wait/diet supposed to shrink the liver, or the two week pre-op diet? I haven't necessarily been watching my fat intake since December, but if I need to start thinking about the liver shrinking, maybe I'd better monitor my fat better.

I think both help with liver shrinkage.  I was diligent in my 3 month pre-op diet, and my 2 week liquid diet, and the surgeon still commented that my liver was fatty at the time of surgery. 

My surgeon said that the more weight I lose before surgery, the safer it would be. So do the best you can for yourself and your health!

The two week diet is designed to shrink the liver.  The rest is for for reprogramming your lifestyle; however, it will have liver shrinking results also if you cut the bad carbs.

Remember, there's good and bad fat intake, so don't panic if it's the good kind.

Also, it's the bad carbs that the liver shrinking especially addesses.  Your attention should be on the carb levels, along with a proper diet and calorie load, during that phase.

I think the 6 month is just to get it so you don't gain any weight.  The 2 week pre-op is your liver shrinking diet.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm on the right track. I have about 50g of carbs per day. Going to try and get my fat intake down a bit too.
