AFLAC - totally worth it

I got an AFLAC policy a year and a half ago and the benefit payout for my VSG with 2 hospital days was $2500!  I had to take a week unpaid at work and we still used daycare.  This was totally worth it.  The premiums are high ($1500/year for my husband and me to have accident and hospital coverage - but my husband will have a RNY this year too - so we have recouped our expense.)

If you will have "medically necessary" surgery and it is still over 6 months away (there is a waiting period) - check out getting an AFLAC policy.  It was worth it for us and has eased the burden of me going unpaid and having to pay our $6k OOP max for the surgery.

I have AFLAC and I think I just have a accident policy, because it only covers accidents. I also have a short term disability policy, but I was only off work for 5 days, so I didn't use it. Maybe they don't offer a hospital stay policy here...Ive never heard of that from my agent. Thats nice though that you were able to use that!
