At 4 weeks post op I was cleared for soft foods..I ate lowfat cottage cheese, moistened tuna, greek yogurt, protein cream soups and lower sodium Better than Bouillion in beef.

I think maybe I am unusual in my food choices..I have pretty much stayed with the same foods since I was cleared for soft foods and full foods. Most days I will eat a few of the following:  Ahi tuna steak, a pure protein bar (because it's easy to eat and go), lowfat string cheese, greek yogurt, moistened white chicken breast, albacore tuna canned.  If I go out to eat, I stay with chicken or fish since they are usually moist. For me, keeping it simple gives me structure and I always have those staple ingredients on hand.

I eat about 2oz per meal, drink water and Powerade Zero and eat about 500-600 calories a day. That can change depending on my exercise schedule..I find I feel actual physical hunger when I exercise and generally add a scoop of Isopure Zero carb creamy vanilla with PB2 chocolate peanut butter powder on those days.

I didn't really feel any restriction or a reduction of hunger signals until I started solid foods at 6 weeks post op. It was really important for me to weigh and measure my food up until that point because I found when I didn't do that, I ate more than I really physically needed to.

I found that salmon and sea scallops made great meals when I first started solids.  I also would buy a rotissary chicken, and I'd eat the dark meat straight and I'm make the light meat into chicken salad with a little mayo.  I would eat plain greek yogurt with protein powder added.  That was also low calorie and lots of protein.

I think the important part is to weigh and measure everything.  If you limit yourself to 2 or 3 ounces of protein per meal, and then fill up on low carb veggies, you'll lose weight.

Good luck,

Carol

At one month out, I was on soft foods.  My go to foods were tuna/chicken/egg salad, cheese, eggs, yogurt.  Since "meals" at that point were all of an ounce to ounce and a half of food, there wasn't a lot of purpose in getting overly creative.  I was still supplementing with protein drinks, too.

More likely, you're just in a typical stall and just need to wait it out.

Search the forums for "stall" or "three week stall."  It's super common for people to stall at this point.  Stick to your plan, get in your protein and water, don't exceed 600-800 calories a day.. you'll be fine. :)
