wow, you talking about surprised. So i went on myfitnesspal to log my sardines, just to check what my intake will be on this. To my surprise 190 calories, but 20 g of protein for 1 can. Now i know i'll be working on more protein.

Hw: 260 lbs / start weight: 248 lbs / SW:238 lbs / 1wk postop:228 lbs

Sardines are great protein, just read can carefully. There is a big variation in calories depending on whether packed in oil, water, tomato sauce, etc.

consult weight 241 (had not been accurately weighed for over 10 years, my medical records just said "wheelchair") high weight was probably closer to 260.

I had sardines for the first time post-op yesterday and they were awesome.  I went with an Alton Brown trick and smooshed the can up with some avocado and a bit of lemon balsamic vinegar.  Drool.
