I have already met with the surgeon, and actually have a date for the sleeve. After searching the forums I see people have been sleeved when they weighted so much more. I feel like a cheater, like I shouldn't be doing this. But I WANT it. I want to be off meds, and I want to be around for my kids. My health is in jeopardy.
Well then it seems like you have your answers already! Talking to a therapist might be a wise choice to help you with those feelings of being a cheater - since you're not.

I was 208 lbs on the day of surgery. I know lots of people on OH who were under 200 lbs. some had 50 lbs to lose and still went for the surgery. It is not cheating. It is taking a medical solution that is available to us all, to treat a disease. Just like having a stent placed in your heart or a kidney transplant or even taking the meds you now take. Same thing. The only thing you would be cheating would be death and hey...that's perfectly acceptable in my book.
When you are ready you will not turn back. No matter how scary, you will keep moving forward with surgery plans.
hospital stay: less than 24 hrs. Caveat: could be longer if there are complications. One poster replied to you that she stayed in hospital for 12 days. That was related to complications following gall bladder removal. Nothing to do with her sleeve.
water: 64 oz a day really is a minimum. It is a top priority to get that in every single day, rain or shine.
I can't explain how I knew when I was ready, I just did. Probably a combination of physical pain from carrying around so much weight, being exhausted all the time and feeling ashamed of myself.
I was in the hospital for one night and on my home by 11 am the next day.
I am trying to drink 2 liters of water a day. Before surgery it was more than that . I had surgery 3 weeks ago today.
