Interesting conversation today.
I had off work today but had to go to the main office to pick something up. I ran into the CEO of the organization and he fussed over me and my weight loss. Now, we are very lucky that our organization pays our insurance premium 100% if you meet 5 criteria-you don't smoke, your blood pressure is controlled, you have a normal A1C or are actively being treated for diabetes, your cholesterol is normal or you are being treated and you have to have a BMI under 30. If your BMI is above 30, you have to lose weight to either get to a 30 or lose 12 pounds in a specific time frame. You have to pay 5% of the premium for each criteria you don't meet.
The CEO told me not to lose too much more weight because I'm looking good. He asked me how much more I plan to lose (I am 5'8" and 240) and I said maybe 50-60 pounds. He was shocked and said I shouldn't lose that much. In order to meet the 30 BMI, I have to be in the low 190's. So , he's basically telling me I would be too thin if I meet the criteria that he himself set up!
