Anyone else get leg cramps at night? They wake me up, often, and I have to get up and stretch to feel relief.  I drink 64+ oz. of water a day and am taking chewable kids vitamins (2 per day... All I can tolerate).

Are you taking your calcium citrate? I take 500mg a day and get leg/foot cramps if I miss a dose.

Even if you are getting 64 oz per day you may still be on the dehydrated side.  You might try and up your liquid intake some more.  If it continues, contact our doctor.  You might be low on potassium but you need to be careful with self medicating the potassium.  You could try eating some foods higher in potassium like a banana but I don't know if you eat any fruit or not.

You need more fluid, and more electrolytes. Powerade Zero really helped my leg cramps a lot.

I haven't been able to add my calcium yet... Vitamins and calcium have been a slow process for me. They are actually the only thing that ever made me feel sick.  64 oz of water is my minimum (usually at 80), but I will add more! I haven't added any fruit to my diet... Was worried about the carbs.  I know the cramps are super painful, so if a banana a day will keep the cramps away, I'm game! If my dog is snoozing with me, sometime the cramps are so bad I can't move the dog enough to get up!

Eating low carb often throws off our electrolytes so supplementing potassium and magnesium should help.

I had terrible leg cramps at night for years.  I'd keep a tube of Arnica gel next to the bed, and rub it into the muscle to relieve the cramp/pain.

About a year ago, I started eating a little banana every day and I haven't had many cramps since.  I think its about the mineral balance being off, and the banana is high in the right minerals.

Good luck, I hope you find a solution.
