New blood work results -- AWESOME!
5-1/2 weeks post-op and just have a slew of blood work done yesterday (15 tubes to be exact)! Kaiser is VERY fast here in GA and by last night I had all the results on my home computer.
Before surgery my Cholestral was in the okay level -- but only with medicine. Before medicine it was anywhere from 220-250. Now it is at 168 without meds!
My glucose levels were anywhere from 105-148 before surgery, now it is 81! Was so happy about that I about cried! I was just about the have to go on diabetes medicine before my surgery, looks like I dodged that bullet!
My A1c after this short a time is now 6.0 which is now normal, albeit at the high side of normal, but I am sure that will be lower at my next check.
My triglicerides were running about 237 before medicine, 117 with medicine but now with NO medicine they are at 90!
B12 levels are good, as are all the other tests they ran with the exception that I am a little low on potassium. Calcium is good, in fact at the high side of the chart.
Love the fact that I am losing weight and fit into my clothes much better -- and even some I haven't been able to wear in years; but boy am I over the moon about my test results!
