Hey guys. I'm on post-op day #12. Could I have orange juice?

I am pre-op and just got my Dr.'s post-op instructions to read over today. It said juice was fine almost immediately post-op, but that very acidic juices might give you reflux. If you try it I'd at leas****er it way down. ( But I'm no expert).

Ooops, misread that "Day 2." Still, I'd be cautious. I'm sure your sleeve will tell you if it doesn't like it!

You probably can but... my plan is pretty clear that I'm supposed to avoid liquid calories and a glass of juice has the same calories as a glass of soda, more or less.  You're better off eating a small orange because you'll at least get fiber too that way.

I had some BBQ chicken leg last week-ish, with just a little bit of sauce to moisten the whole ONE ounce of chicken LOL, and woke up with acid in my throat and horrible heartburn! I agree, OJ might be a little too acid this soon :( I would ask the Doc to to be safe.

I think you probably could, but I have completely avoided liquid calories except protein shakes.  I don't think it is a good habit to get into.

Unless you are struggling to get in calories and have your nutritionist's express permission, I would caution you against the juice. Juice is very high sugar and has no nutritional value. Anyhow, it was not recommended on my plan, except with special cir****tances.

Orange juice is carb heavy, protein deficient. I didn't have any until this past month and even the then it was 3 oz. In order to stay in weight loss mode I need to keep my carbs between 30-40g a day.  Try some Syntrax Nectar protein drink in Fuzzy Navel if you have an urge for something fruity to get your protein and fluids in.
