Yesterday's Milestone...and ramblings.

I didn't have a chance to post yesterday, but I wanted to share that as of yesterday, I am no longer obese. I didn't realize I'd be as excited about this milestone as I was. It was quite an accomplishment.

I celebrated by starting Week 3 of Couch to 5K (which was awful), followed by a Pilates class. Then last night I dragged my boyfriend out of the house for a mile walk.

What a change from a year ago. Not just physically, but mentally too. I feel incredible.

As a side note, my Mom went to a seminar on Thursday for the Sleeve. If she has the procedure done, all four of us in my immediate family will have had some form of bariatric surgery...my father and sister had a RYN Y about 10 years ago. It's interesting to think that an entire family will have WLS...definitely says something to me about the genetic aspect of obesity.

Happy Hump Day.

Congrats - and yes, week 3 is one of the hardest steps in the program.  You'll be surprised that week 4 won't seem such a huge leap.  Keep up the great work!

That's good to know. I felt like 3 minutes was such a huge leap from 1:20. My goal is to run one 5K from start to finish...and then never again.
