I am going to do some shopping in a bit and am craving fruit galore!!! What are good ones to have? I know some are high in sugar and not necessarily good for you....which ones *are* good for you? Also, fresh or frozen?

Thank you much!!!

I'm only 9 weeks out now and can't imagine having room in my stomach during one of my meals for fruit if I want to make my protein goal. :(

That said, my NUT said that having a half a banana (or a very small whole banana) would be fine especially pre-workout.

Look for ones that are low on the glycemic index- strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries are my favorite. Apples are also a good choice.  I eat a lot of mango, but be warned that the riper the mango the higher it is on the glycemic index.  I use fresh to eat, and frozen in shakes/smoothies. I did eat fruit consistently during my weight loss phase also. My NUT encouraged that choice over a sugary choice that I struggled so much with preop.

Fresh, and berries are the best  for lower glycemic fruit. Espec. Raspberries. Then blueberries.

Then I'll usually choose melon, apples, and pears, but lately (prior to surgery) I was making a really lovely refrigerator oatmeal with half a banana, too.

But I would stick with berries at first.

You should check with your NUT/surgeon before eating fruits (like strawbs) with small seeds.  I know that many are cautioned against those.

^^^ What Gwen said

You're newly sleeved, and the small seeds in strawberries could create problems.  I suggest that you check with your nut before you eat fruits at this stage.

Peaches are good go to for me. I love fruit..fresh..frozen..canned. If you don't mind canned..I get the Del Monte sliced peaches canned in water no added sugar. 1/2 cup is 30 cal and 7 net carbs. The slices are a nice thick size and 1/2 cup is very filling with the sleeve. May be a good fruit for you at this point..can cut them up in pieces.

I know how you feel... I couldn't WAIT until I could have fruit.  I looove fruit!  Especially strawberries, bananas, apples, blueberries and kiwi!  I've decided that every day for breakfast I will have some fruit with my yogurt.  I hate eating breakfast... but I've now been looking forward to breakfast because I get my FRUIT! :)  I even had some grapes the other day..and omg, they were SOOO good.  I don't know what fruits are better, but I believe that the berries are a lower sugar choice.  I think grapes and bananas are pretty high in sugar and have a higher glycemic index than strawberries...however, they're still FRUIT and still good for you!  Enjoy that fruit girl! :)
