Hey Guys,

I am 4 days out and with every swallow, no matter what it is... i have this pain that runs all the way across my stomach. I've tried smaller sips, waiting longer between sips, making sure I'm not swallowing air.  Nothing helps...any advice?

Have you tried different temperatures?  You might have more comfort with something like hot tea?

Hey Qwen,

Yes I have tried different temps.. cold, room temp, warm... it just don't seem to matter about that.  Maybe its just gas and I'm just not sure about it.  I'm not gonna let it get me down though. Its just very uncomfortable at times.

Hi I experienced something similar to what you said except it was up and down up and down i called my doctor and told him that no matter what it was the same pain he had me come in did a upper gi and everything was okay he had me get some mylanta to coat my stomach he said it was like having a open sore and everything that touched it would bounce off and irritate it until it had healed up some after a couple of days I was normal and relieved of the pain made it easier to get my fluids off

Ready to live my life

I will have to try the mylanta.  My follow up appointment is Thursday, so as long as I can bear the pain I will tough it out.  Its not that its horrible, just really uncomfortable.  I also told my dr. about this while I was in the hospital and he told me it was my full feeling.  I don't agree with that because it does it first thing in the morning. I know my stomach is empty then.  Thanks for the advice!

If you think it might be gas (and that would be my guess), try Gas-X strips to give some relief. Otherwise, check with your doctor at first opportunity if the pain persists.

I do use the gas-x strips some.  But that don't seem to resolve the issue.  It goes away about as fast as it hits, so I'm just dealing with it for a few more days. Follow up appointment is on Thursday.  Thanks for the advice!  Everyone on here is very helpful!!

For about a day, when my acid issues were at their height, the lining of my stomach was incredibly sore. So when I would get gas, it felt like this really weird pain across my stomach--like a poke that moved from one side to the other. Once I got the acid under control, the pokes subsided, but it was a little scary, for sure!
