Got my date! June 18th....holy sugar pie Batman!

Met with my surgeon today for pre-op. Hubby came as a support. I am in shock, I never thought this day would actually come. If you've read any of my other posts, I bailed on lap band over five years ago due to fear. 

I think that this was the surgery I was meant to have. We have hired a babysitter for tomorrow so that we can go to our favorite restaurant for a date before the life change. Pre-op diet starts next Wednesday. 

I am super excited for life in a normal-ish body. Next summer we are going to Disney and I can't wait to fit in the rides and not be the big girl mom who watches everyone else have fun. I will be dreaming of that moment every day to keep me motivated. 

Just wanted to share, everyone's stories on this site have helped me and I can't wait to be some one else's helper someday!

The best of luck to you as your new life is about to begin! I have my surgery the day before yours. My surgeon requires all of his patients (l actually I think the entire clinic no matter what surgery or size) be on a 2 week liquid diet. I started mine this past Tuesday. At first, I thought it was going to be REALLY REALLY tough. Sure, there have been "moments" where I was like oh my, but I have kept busy. Also, I have to keep reminding myself I will eat again. I think for so long I was a slave to food and I know that. I want be free. So just keep reminding yourself during your pre-op phase that you will get through it! Stay busy. This phase will not last forever! Just make peace with it. You will be the HAPPY MOM AT DISNEY SOON!!
