Pain with ADHD medication?

I was recently diagnosed with adult ADHD. I have been put on 30 mg Adderall. I find that I have had a lot of stomach irritation and at times, it gets pretty unpleasant. I am not certain it's the Adderall, but that seems to be what is different about what I'm putting into my body since these reoccurring pains have started. I plan to discuss with my doctor, but am curious if anyone else has taken Adderall post VSG and experienced stomach irritation.

Thanks!

I take adderal, and also started taking it post VSG.  I take either the XR (extended release) or the regular.  i do not have stomach issues from it, but I only take 20 MG. Did your doc start you on 30?  If so, perhaps drop it to 20 and see if that will work??  Try seeing if taking it when you do a morning protein shake helps- that is usually when I do it. Maybe the protein shake coats the stomach and is protective? I do not normally take it on an emp;ty stomach.

I actually started on 20 but was only getting about 8-9 good hours out of it then experiencing a nasty drop off where I was exhausted and very distracted.  I only took the 20 for a few days, so I'm not certain I can say I would experience the same stomach issues with it, but the effectiveness was definitely an issue.

Dang, I wish I got 8-9 hours.  I don't get exhausted when it wears off though.

I don't take your med but know of some of my daughters friends that have taken Adderall in the past for ADHD & it made them lose weight as they weren't hungry while taking it.  I was very sad when I found out my own daughter had ADHD but school was out of control & she had no concentration & her grades were really bad.  Concerta made her depressed & she would cry for no reason; she's been taking Foclin XR for several years now & has done great on it.  Her grades are A-B's now, no more troubles at school.  I had to get over my sadness and do what was best for my daughter; I didn't want to put her on any medications but school was so hard for her not being able to concentrate.  My sister also has ADHD but I don't know what med she's on...best of luck in finding something that works for you & as mentioned above maybe the dosage is too high & should be at 20mg.  My daughter's med is different from yours but through-out the years she started at 10mg then 15mg and is now on 20mg.  Best of luck & feel better soon.

I take 20 mg twice per day, morning and afternoon. No stomach issues.
