Hate to spend $ on new pants but the old ones were literally falling off!

Had to go to Macy's yesterday and pick up 3 pairs of pants for work (one black, one navy and one beige) -- old size 3x, new size 18.  Fit in a 16 but since I've had a lot of stomach surgery in the past, pants that are tight in the waist are a no go.

Still happy with the new size -- for now.  Next issue -- get some size large tops to go with the pants and don't spend too much money cause they will be too big soon also!

Love my sleeve!

IMHO it is important to try and wear the proper size as much as possible during the wl phase! Large, baggy clothes really mask how much progress is being made, and clothes that fit make you feel fantastic!  I could completely redo my wardrobe for work on $200 or less by shopping clearance and Old Navy. Try jcp.com- they have very modestly prices slacks for work (Worthington brand in particular).  My new favorite place to troll is the clearance racks at JCrew- just about everything is around $25 or less per item. Kudos on the new purchase and congrats on your progress!

I have found some great items at consignment shops, Salvation Army and Savers. I have bought pants for no more than $8 and tops for no more than $6. I agree that wearing clothes that fit you properly is important. I didnt really see the loss until I got out of the baggy clothes.

That's awesome!

My biggest issue right now is, strangely enough, exercise clothes.  I don't work so I can get away with t-shirts and one size fits all skirts in my day to day life, but I need exercise clothes that don't fall off!  And undergarments in general.  My too-big panties are chaffing that spot where my thigh and crotch join.  And my underwires dig into my sides.  ARGH.  These are things that thrift shops can't help me with :P

(I will admit, though, I liked wearing my super baggy jeans.  They made me feel really successful.  It was like, "See!  My jeans fit horribly!  It's proof that I've lost so much weight!")

I was fortunate that a friend gifted me a lot of clothes she'd "shrunk" out of, but when I was done with those I did a lot of thrift shops and places like TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Ross.  I agree that clothing that fits helps you truly appreciate your progress!  I sent so many things to goodwill last year it's amazing!

I found some low priced workout clothes at Walmart. I ordered them online because my store didnt have the sizes I wanted. I have changed to liking loose fitting..baggy was "before surgery".

I have found really nice name brand clothing at consignment shops. jeans for 15 dollars or less, tops around 8, dress pants 15.  My size has been stable for a while and I am hooked on the low prices so I still go there.

I refuse to buy work pants.... this weight has been falling off to quick I won't spend the money ... I've also out grin all my suit jackets ... so I haven't worn a pair of pants  (other then yoga) since the day of surgery 4/8 I've only worn dress and skirts.... they are so much cheaper and more comfortable...  H & M  has great buys cheap cheap and they last I've bought 4 or 5 dress either $9; or $12 a dress  3 or 4 skirts $5 a piece some shirts ranging from $7 to $10 a piece  I used to Walk out of that store cause I was to big.... lol now I love it and go all the time..

Hi: I'll shop at Goodwill until I reach my goal. I just picked-up a nice jacket with pants for my daughter's graduation at goodwill for $15.00 dollars on senior Tuesday's, great deal.

Happy shopping to all.
