Obese belly
Hi ...I am Pre-Surgery and I have a ginormous belly at 5 '4 and 285lbs, my belly and back fat are just huge!!! It's the most frustrating thing as whenever I'd lose weight on my own it seemed my belly never really went down very much. Anyone have surgery and really lose a lot in there belly and back? Just curious to see if it's possible to have a waist again.
So far I've lost 6 inches from my waist and 4 from my hips since March. I'm down 70 pounds all together since January. I always notice weight loss first in the extremities and last in the core of my body so I know my thighs to my stomach will be the last to go on this weight loss journey of mine.
It'll happen for you - it just might not until your body fat is pretty close to goal.

My belly was the last to go down. I lost weight in waves going down my body, and up my legs and the belly was last. I still have a pot and probably need to lose another 10 to 15 pounds before my belly will be flat. I reached my goal weight, and I plan on losing more weight, but I'm using my belly as my measure now rather than a number on the scale. I get the feeling its going to be a slow process.
I do have a waist again and you will too, but it'll take a while.

We all lose weight differently but eventually if you set a goal and reach it you will lose all your weight. I tend to lose weight from the top down. I carry the majority of my weight from my waist to my thighs and it is the last place I am losing it. Ideally I have 20lbs to go and I am carrying that last 20 lbs between by belly button and the top of my thighs lol. I know it will go eventually I just have to keep working at it.
The good news is, at this weight, I have a waist back even if it isn't as small as it could be. Just keep going you will get there!
I have I couldn't see my toes when I looked down ... I looked like duck before ..my belly was huge and my butt also... I can't believe how much belly I have lost I can see my toes no problem actually and can even paint them no problem... look at some of my pics I have some before a also .. I just posted new one from father's day... my surgery was 4/8 I feel great.

I'm 5'4 and I was 260 pounds. Now, six months post op I am down 86 pounds and lost 10-12 inches from my waist. The belly really can go down! You just have to make sure to stay on track and follow your surgeons/nutritionists guidelines.
