Fuzzy navel?!

I have waiting anxiously for my box of samples  to arrive in the mail. Finally my samples of nectar and matrix arrived!  I whip open my packet of fuzzy navel first, since it gets rave reviews...gag!!!  I can't stand the smell and the taste was barely tolerable IF I held my breathe while drinking. Sigh...Now I look at the rest of my sample bag in dismay hoping the others are better but having doubts.  Yesterday I tried a sample of a bariatric advantage shake. Holy cow. I had to throw it away. Nasty stuff.  I know everyone says our tastes change after surgery, but I think I would have to be dead to enjoy these ones. Thank goodness I only bought samples!  Here's hoping the double stuffed cookie or peanut butter cookie are more successful than fuzzy navel!  Okay, rant over.  On the bright side...finished day 7 of pre-op diet today!  7 more to go!

I have a bag of samples to try also. I just don't know when I will be brave enough to do it.  I do like the premade bottles of EAS Advantedge.  I figure since I have another 3 months until surgery I was in no hurry to open the samples.

I have the EAS advantage and the first ones I tried I didn't like but then I got some presently said new improved flavor and has a plastic twist lid. It was yummy. so if you haven't tried in awhile maybe try them again. I'm also very picky with my premade drinks

I'm with you.  I ordered a box of samples and Fuzzy Navel was the first I couldn't wait to try.  Yuck!  I couldn't drink it because of the taste and smell.  Then I tried the Caribbean Cooler the next day..again Yuck!  I think I need to stick to my CVS brand and GNC Total Lean.  They are both pretty good.

Just my own experience...post-op lots of things change. I found that I always disliked protein powders but faithfully used them during my clear liquid phase. When not eating anything immediately after surgery, I consumed protein powder because it was necessary not because I liked it. Once I was advanced to full liquids, I found I could tolerate premier protein shakes RTD-chocolate. These are all that I use now.

Good luck.

I'd never drink the fuzzy navel, but I mix it with Greek yogurt and freeze it in Popsicle molds. It's super delicious that way.

Adding to yogurt, now that might work!  Thanks Gwen. How much do you add?  I've been thinking about post-op if I want to add unflavored to stuff to up the protein, but I'm not sure how much to add to things.

Haven't tried EAS, but it is one my notebook from my surgeon mentions. I was really enjoying the RTD Premier Protein, until I got one with chunks floating in it...a bit off putting. So far Chike, Body Fortress and Pure Protein have been a success.  Who knows what will work later. Just keep working it. :-)

I mix 100 grams of the powder in 24 ounces of yogurt, so it's pretty much "one scoop per 8 ounces of yogurt."  More or less.  My popsicles are pretty tasty and I tend to have one as my late night meal most days since I don't like having solids late in the evening!
