I'm post op day 12 and am learning the hard way what eating too fast feels like! I thought my chest would explode! I know it's better to eat slowly and eating too fast was one of my major problems before surgery but I do hope someday I will be able to eat one egg before it has time to get cold!

I am having the same problem, I eat to fast.  I have the chewing part down, but slowing down is kicking my butt.  I am also struggling with not drinking for 30 minutes before and after.    I am a huge water drinker and always have it.   I have so much to learn.

It will get better.  When you cook your eggs try cooking them in coconut oil & a little splash of skim or 1% milk to make the runny.  Even though you're probably not completely on solids this soon out still get in the practice of chewing whatever food is in your mouth 30 + times, don't eat in front of the tv either.  Good luck & it will get better.

Eggs are hard for a lot of people early out.

I make sure to put my fork down between each bite.  That can help me focus on eating more slowly.

I have the same problem but I am also having trouble telling when I am full before I feel like I have something stuck in my throat. I am 12 days post op and am still trying to learn my limitations Best of luck to you on your journey.

This close to surgery, you can't trust your body or listen to it because nerves were severed and you're still healing. This is why it's super important to just eat what you measure and stop there.

My NUT said to eat with your opposite hand and it does help to slow you down.

That is really  a great idea.  Never would have thought of that.  I will try that at lunch today

Thanks
