Avocado/guacamole

Did anyone eat gaucamole during the mushy stage? My son makes the best fresh gaucamole and I would love to have some. I thought since I could have refried beans, which is a vegetable, gaucamole wouldn't be so different.

Don't see why not.  Just go slow, as with any new food.  Avocado is high in fat, and you may find your tummy/gut isn't happy with the fat content this early out.  But you'll never know unless you try!

I did!  Or just mashed avocado.  Yum.  (But I ate them with a protein.)

I didn't eat guacamole during the mushy stage, but I'll eat some now.  Just beware of anything too spicy as that could trigger some reaction in your newly sleeved stomach.

I did. I'm still in mushy phase and made Guac for the 4th. Mine is not spicy but damn good. I had two tiny spoonfuls and savored every micro bite!!

I was going to ask  about avocados at my appointment this week.  I think it would be wonderful on refried beans. And I love spicy food.  I hope spicy irritating the stomach is only temporary!

One of the problems I have with spicier food now is that I can't drink for 30 minutes after eating.  So I have to be careful not to eat something that will make me NEED WATER NOW.

My doc said it's okay (and spicy food was okay) but did caution again any thing like seeds (tomato's or peppers) or skins (tomato) or stringy fibers (corn) that could be mixed into the guac that could cause problems for the sleeve while still healing. As other have said protein is key, so adding a healthy fat like avocado to get to your calorie goal is fine as long as you are getting in your protein.
