Random question about TOO much liquids in TOO little time
Has anyone ever heard of having too much liquids in a short period of time that effects you?
For example: since Monday I have had at least 84-92oz of water in a 8.5 hour time span. I thought it would be a good idea to drink all of my liquids while at work. my 20oz shake for breakfast then I work on my 64oz jug of liquids and fini**** by 4pm. Today? I FEEL FREAKING EXHAUSTED and tired. Not myself. Is that just me being crazy or could drinking too much in a short time effect your body? I also peed about 8 times or more during work. Again about 8.5 hours time.
Just curious because I feel blah and TIRED.
It is possible you are putting your electrolyte levels out of wack. If you are pushing that much fluid in 8 hours, make sure you are still getting the nutrition your body needs as well as electrolytes and sodium.
From Wikipedia...Symptoms of hyponatremia include nausea and vomiting, headache, confusion, lethargy, fatigue, loss of appetite, restlessness and irritability, muscle weakness, spasms or cramps, seizures, and decreased consciousness or coma.[6]

Thats what I drink daily, but I only pee about 1x during the same time frame. I am always hot and sweat easily and seem to evaporate water. Peeing that much would mean your drinking to much. From all I've read there is no danger, just intrusive to have to pee so often and you can run low on electrolytes as the other poster suggested. Could be a bladder infection/irritation? (not a dr - always best to ask your pcp or surgeon)
If it was going to effect you, it would effect you right away. You'd probably get dizzy for one thing.
Be careful about drinking too much fluid too quickly as people have died from that. It's called water intoxication. However, healthy kidneys are able to excrete approximately 0.8 to 1 litre of fluid water (0.21 - 0.26 gallons) per hour so you'd have to drink more than that in an hour to experience it. You basically drank about 10 oz. an hour which is really not that much. I used to do that all the time when pre-op when I was always on a diet.
