Thanks to those that helped my desperate plea earlier on what to order when we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. This is our usual go to resturant, we always order large margaritas and have HUGE meals and I always eat ALL of my plate.  So we went and every one else ordered their margaritas, even my brother because today was his 21st birthday. I ordered a water. Since I'm still pre-op it's ok to drink when I eat. Then everyone ordered their food, and I found grilled chicken on the menu. So that's what I ordered it and it was 2 flatter pieces of chicken. I ate one of the pieces and the lettuce and tomatoes that came with it. Then I stopped.  That's right, I STOPPED!  I didn't eat the rice or beans, didn't touch the sour cream and I brought the other piece of chicken home for another meal.

I really went in thinking, even with the helpful tips, that I was going to do horrible. I was going to eat like I used to eat. I had it in my mind that I still had a long time on my pre-op diet, one meal won't mess me up.  I even had a plan that if I did bad, I would just do another day of liquid. I only have to do the day before surgery, but I was going to make it two just so I could eat bad. I am just really proud of my decision!

Yay!  That's great.  One of the things I love doing (since I'm weird) is looking at recipes online and playing the "what would I order from this restaurant" game.  It's pretty fun.

I ordered something similar from my local Mexican place when I was pre-op.  Very tasty!

Good for you!  You found a way to enjoy the celebration without going off the pre-op diet.  This shows me that you are strong. Keep it up and you will have all the success that you dream of!  😊
