Surgery date set need some advice

So my VSG surgery date is set for August 4th.  I have preop apt with surgeon on July 23 and start preop diet on July 26.  I have had some premiere protein drinks and some vanilla muscle mile(which I can tolerate but not fond of).  What else do I need to get? I know it is a liquid diet and he will give me more info but I like to plan ahead.  Should I order the Syntrax Necter sample pack? Unjury unflavored protein powder?  What do you guys suggest that I might want or need that needs to be ordered ahead of time?

Thanks in advance for any info

I would definitely sample the Syntrax before buying it if you haven't tasted it. I hate it. My husband and I both had VSG and our favorite is premiere protein and the lean protein shakes from GNC.

I second this.  I LOVE Syntrax Peanut Butter, but I'm really grateful I got samples of Double Stuffed Cookie and Chocolate Truffle before buying a tub, since I did not like either.

Nashua Nutrition is a great place to get sample packs!

I agree that sampling is a good idea. I got mine, and my vitamins, from bariatricpantry.com.  Most people tend to really like the Syntrax Fuzzy Navel, I thought it was hideous, so glad I only got a sample!

Congratulations on your surgery date.  I wish you the best with your surgery, recovery and weight loss.  Its an adventure.

I'm not sure how common a problem it is, but I couldn't stomach sweet drinks after surgery, and I relied on unjury unflavored protein powder exclusively.  I'd mix it with chicken broth, yogurt, pudding, jello, mashed cauliflower, basically anything I could stir! (smile).  Even now - a year later - it is easier for me to drink hot drinks than cold.

I bought a whole slew of samples, and tried a few before giving up on the sweet drinks.  So I'd suggest just getting a few samples to start and then see what sits well in your new tummy before buying a lot of anything.  You never know how your tummy will react.

Best wishes,

Carol

Looked at the unjury website and it looks like i

I can mix the unflavored with water and crystal light. That might be better than the nectar.  And it can be mixed with pudding and broth.  Or I could do their chicken broth.  Thanks for your answers.
