3 & 1/2 weeks post-op-----lots of gas/bubbles when I eat?

After I eat I tend to get a lot of bubbles in my stomach and it makes a ton of noises.  Now, I don't "pass" the gas---instead it just kind of creeps back up my throat.  It doesn't hurt but is very uncomfortable.  Is this normal?  Is there a way to prevent this?

Thank you! Emily

Hi Kelly-

I don't know what you mean by PPI, sorry!  I have been doing REALLY small bites because that's what I thought I should be doing?  And I am following the no water thing---it always lasts about 30 minutes after I eat.

Thank you!

A PPI is a proton pump inhibitor like prilosec or nexium.  Many of us take them after surgery.
