My diet calls for five whey protein shakes, broth, strained clear soups, sugar free jello and sugar free drinks and water. Only things I can see through to drink, except for the shakes. For the protein shakes, I can use 8 ounces of skim, almond or soy milk, or water. I bought Syntrax Matrix whey protein powder and Bufflehead turned me onto Nashua Nutrition, where you can order various protein powder samples. GwenMo told me about almond milk, it is way lower in carbs than cow milk. I had also thought about soy milk but someone told me it increases estrogen levels. Hope this helps.

I was certainly allowed to.  I used a high quality protein powder and almond milk for all of my shakes.  I still do!

That sounds really good.  Did you take a vitamin during your pre surgery diet?
