Well, for the first few weeks, you will probably be on clear liquids and then full liquids if that is what your plan calls for.  I would make sure to have, broth, protein shakes, def tea, maybe greek yogurt.  I wouldn't buy to much because you don't know how your new stomach will tolerate things.

Good luck!

I really just made sure I had almond milk, protein powder, and SF popsicles.  I sent my partner out to panera for french onion soup once I was home again and decided I wanted that.

Protein powder was a biggie.  Greek yogurt and cream soup too, if you are allowed those things.  Have water or another SF drink handy so you can sip throughout the day.

Mostly, stock up on patience!  Getting your fluids in won't be easy at first but you will get used to your new normal.  Best of luck.

Greek yogurt, s/f puddings and popsicles. I concur with what everyone else has said, especially the patience. :) Good luck!

Protein powder and broth were my constant companions right after surgery as well as chewable vitamins.  My favorite 'treat' at that stage was mushroom broth mixed with unflavored protein powder for a protein-filled non-dairy cream of mushroom soup.

I'd suggest some chicken broth, sugar-free jello, sugar-free, fat-free puddings, plain greek yogurt, and protein power to mix in all of the above! (smile)  I couldn't stomach sweet drinks so I drank a ton of chicken broth with protein powder.  When you are a little farther out, you'll want to have more proteins, like eggs, deli sliced turkey and ham, cheeses, and canned tuna.

good luck,

Carol
