Why Does Water Taste So Bad To Me Now??!

I have always been an avid water drinker.  I just loved a big glass of water many times a day but I can't tolerate it now!  This is terrible and quite a mystery.  I hate having to put flavourings into my water but now I have to and even then I can't drink water as well as I can drink milk based drinks - those go down just fine.  What's this all about?  I am actually struggling to get enough water in every day.  By the way I am almost one month post op with a sleeve that has earned the reputation of being a bit of a high needs princess sleeve!  I am doing fine and feeling well but my tummy is definitely in control!

Have you tried different temperatures of water?  Those might work better for you.  I know lots of people have issues with cold water post-op.

Regardless though, this will probably pass for you in a few weeks or months.  Drink the stuff you can drink.  All liquids count to your liquid goal!

Yes Princess Tummy likes only room temperature or slightly warmed liquids!

I know you said you don't like to add flavoring to your water, but this idea is very subtle. I used to put lime in my water, rind and all. It added the slightest but of flavor. Now, instead of buying fresh limes, I got some crystallized lime called True Lime. It's in the spice aisle, and is packaged in the same type of plastic spice jar. It's really food, and not sweet.

I also have this issue and I am seven months out.  I can drink the flavored but not plain water.  I have tried it cold and room temperature and still can't tolerate it.  My doctor said this is common.

I also had this problem. I never liked flavored water and for about 2-3 months after surgery it was the only way I could get any water down. Then I still couldn't tolerate iced cold water. It's really only been in the last month (I'm 5 months out) that I have been able to drin****d water. Now I don't do any flavored water, minus the occasional powerade zero after a long run.

I had a similar issue bu****er use to hurt going down.   I had to had crystal light.  But at the six month mark, it just stop hurting and now I can drink plain water.   It will get better.
