Drink a tall glass of water with a meal it'll "fill you up".

That stupid rule I had followed for many many years, I always wondered why after 30 minutes of my meal and huge glass of water why I felt really really hungry. Well I started incorporating VSG lifestyle tips before my surgery (I'm still a good 3 months pre op). One of those was no drinking with meals and until 30 minutes after. Well I left food on my plate! I got pretty full and then when I drank 30 minutes later it all felt so good. I can't explain it the water soothed my thirst my stomach was nice and full and it just felt awesome. I also didn't get hungry again for a good 4 hours. :)

I did the same thing a couple of months out, not drinking before the meal, and only sips during to help get the food down, then nothing after dinner for at least a half hour.  I stayed much fuller longer!!!!  I didn't notice any significant weight loss by doing this, but because I was snacking an hour after meals, Im sure it had a benefit for not gaining weight!

I agree.  I was a three glass of tea kinda guy before... I still wonder how much that had to do with my weight gain.
