So I am almost thru day 8 of my preop diet.  Sunday I go to all clear liquids and surgery is scheduled for 1 on August 4th.  Getting a little nervous but not ready to run yet. LOL.  I have to do 2 weeks of clear liquid then 2 weeks of full liquid then 2 weeks of mushies.  I am so nervous I can't do the postop.  The preop has been fairly easy but it is only 10 days.  Any words of advice?  I am taking 2 to 3 weeks off because I have a pretty active job with some lifting involved.  Will I be able to drink water and liquids pretty normally by then? (3 weeks post)

I was able to drink liquids with ease within the first week post-op, but it's different for everyone.  Some people have a lot more difficulty!  Just remember to sip every waking moment and you'll be fine :D

I had surgery 7/28/14 and went home the same day. I have taken 3 doses of liquid tylenol and that is all I have needed for pain. the first morning at my swallow test it took 2 hours for anything to pass and I was thinking oh no what have I done. I followed the nurses advice and started on warm broth (Unjury) and have had no further problems. I would be back to work if I could but also had large hernia repair so off for  weeks. Good luck with your surgery
