Hi all,

I has my lap sleeve surgery January 21. Since then I have lost 54 pounds. Started at 231 and currently 178. Compared to several on this forum, I haven't lost that fast. It gets very discouraging. I recent have started walking two miles a day but starting to get worried....

Any inspirations or ideas would be appreciated!

You're definitely not alone!  I had surgery 1/9 and I've lost 56 (from 220), so my results are almost exactly the same as yours.  Losing slowly is fine - it gives your body time to adjust gradually (I never had hair loss), and also gives your skin time to tighten up a little as you go. That's what my doc's office says anyway.   I think I was getting a little bit slack on the eating for a while, so a few days ago I decided to get super detailed about tracking what I eat and keeping the calories around 800 - quickly dropped another couple of pounds, so that's what I'm doing going forward. I want to lose another 30 so I don't want to lose momentum yet!  Oh yeah, and I've been exercising all along - brisk walking on the treadmill and some work with hand weights. Not sure that's affecting the weight loss much, but I can feel muscles developing in places that used so be soft and squishy. :)  Don't get discouraged - you're doing great!

everyone loses at there own pace, I lose about 5 lb each month , it will take time but the weight is coming off

as long as your measuring and tracking your food and staying on plan you will lose weight

light weights tend to lose slower than heavy weights, older people lose slower

Everyone loses at their own pace, indeed!  But it's so hard not to compare ourselves to others, eh?  :/  There are so many factors in weight loss though - age, starting weight, etc, etc.

Hang in there, stick to the plan, slow loss is still loss and that's the important thing. :D

I'm averaging 10 pounds a month, but I started off at 319.  I assume that it will slow down and that there is no way I'll be maintaining 10 pounds a month once I'm under 200 like you are :D

Instead of lbs, look at % of excess weight to be lost.  I bet you are well  over 50% which is pretty dang good.

Surgery Date 04-22-14 HW 2011 388(lost 60lbs on WW, regained 40) Surgery Consult Weight 1/10/14 - 367 SW 357 - CW 9/15 210.

Stalls are your body's way of telling you not to get too cocky.
