Losing weight rapidly is stressful on your body. That is why when you are pregnant you sometimes lose hair and with chemotherapy you lose hair. I lose hair easily. If you keep your protein up you put less stress on your body during the rapid weight loss period so you are less likely to lose a significant amount of hair. On the other hand, I did what I was told to do and lost a lot of hair. It took over a year for it to all come back and it is even better now than before surgery. I take a lot of vitamins and keep my protein up and take good care of my hair. But it was difficult for a while.

if your not eating enough protein losing your hair is the least of your problems , your body will eat your muscles to supply needed protein and your heart is a muscle also your organs
many anorexics cant have kids ( permanently) because lack of protein ate there reproductive organs
why can't you eat 65-80 gm of protein , 2 shakes are 60 gm , 2 eggs and 2 oz of smoked salmon is 27 gm,a greek yogurt is 15 gm
if you refuse to eat that much protein you should see a therapist if you physically can't you should call your surgeon to find out why not
only time I had problems getting enough protein was the first few weeks and also a few days when I had the FLU
even if you need to eat 6 meals you need the protein even if you do not lose weight the protein is more important , the only thing more important is water

I think she meant before surgery she never consumed enough protien and her hair wasn't falling out then.
I am 100% eating enough protein post op and taking my vitamins. I had the sleeve to start a new healthy life. Obviously, my diet before I chose the surgery wasn't the most healthy. I consumed mostly carbs and sweets.
How did you guys style your hair while you were losing it? I'm so nervous about this!
Six weeks post-op I shaved my head to raise money for children's cancer research through St. Baldricks. I raised $1500! And the best part is that I haven't had to worry about the whole hair loss thing at all :) In fact, I couldn't even tell you if I've had any and I'm 5 months out now. :D
I know this isn't for everyone, but it's been really awesome for me. And I LOVE having short hair, which is a surprise. It also makes my skinnier neck look even longer and more amazing.

I got an inverted bob that I love. Short in the back and angled longer on the sides. A few people on this forum said they did that cut and liked it. so I gave it a try and its great.
best wishes,
