Calcium Citrate chewables that taste ok?

I have a liquid calcium citrate that I can stomach, but, it doesn't make for easy travel. :(

Has anyone found a chewable that delivers 500 mg at a time that tastes decent???  I have the Bariatric Support line (in citrus) from Vitamin Shoppe and I have to take 2 at a time to get 500 mg - and THEY TASTE REALLY BAD to me.

Citrus flavor is not my thing. :(

Bariatric Advantage Calcium Chews are 500mg in Caramel and Peanut Butter flavors.  I love them.  They're running a buy two, get one free promotion right now.  You have to call them to get the deal.

Ditto.  They are great tasting and not gritty.

Add me to the chorus of Bariatric Advantage Chocolate Peanut Butter 500mg.  YUM.  I love those things.  I eat them after my meals and they're a delicious dessert treat.

I would ask them why, specifically, they disagree with ASMBS guidelines.

I would definitely ask about that. I've never heard of a WLS patient that didn't need calcium after surgery.

They said bypass patients only, not sleeve patients.. They said if I feel I need them, to chew a tums...

Tums has calcium carbonate which we don't absorb well. Plus it can lead to kidney stones. The ASMBS recommends 1500mg a day so, again, I'd ask why your surgeon feels the ASMBS is incorrect.

And I'd start taking it regardless of what my surgeon said. You can't test for calcium deficiency without a bone scan, because your blood will leach it out of your bones if you're not getting enough. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
