6.5 months post op and can taste goal *Pics Included*

Hi OH friends,

I dont post here much but read everyday. I wanted to share my progress and hope to inspire those considering surgery. I had my surgery with Dr. Joya in mexico in Feb 2014 I was 321 horrible pounds on that day!

Today I weigh in at 179, thats a loss of 142# and yes I lost that all in 6.5 months. Whats my secret? I dont have one. I follow my plan, keep in contact with my mentor and stay focused on my goal. I exercise 4 days per week and eat ice cream occasionally rather than everyday like I used to. Its not rocket science its a lifestyle change and one that I am happy I made. I am 19# away from goal and am considering lowering it now that I am almost there.

Like everyone the NSV's that I have experienced since surgery are way to many to list, shopping, roller coasters, not fearing breaking chairs, running are a few of the most memorable. Other than that being NORMAL and not fearing people because of the comments that were made about my weight. I remember always meeting someone for the first time and thinking I wonder if they will remember me as the fat girl.... Dont have that problem any more. I am thinner than most of my friends and definitely more fit which feels good for once.

I hope anyone reading this considering surgery also considers the lifestyle change that comes along with it. Surgery helped me get started and gave me a push in the right direction but when it comes down to it I did all the hard work and will continue to work hard for the rest of my life to beat the obesity disease and maintain my weightloss. TOTAL POUNDS LOST- 200 (110 pounds lost before surgery, 90 pounds lost Post Op.diabetes in remission-blood pressure normal-cholesterol and triglyceride levels normal! BMI from 55.6 supermorbidly obese to 23.6 normal!!!!

Thank you so much for the post. I'm on the bench awaiting my approval and surgery date. I love reading the success stories. You certainly didn't look like 321, but you look amazingly thin now. Congratulations!
